Farm School - Rabbits

Violette Hill Hay Farm’s Farm School offers a hands-on animal education experience designed to connect children with the animals on the farm. Each week, students will have the opportunity to learn about different animals, helping them develop a deep understanding and appreciation for the farm environment. The structure of each class includes 15 minutes of free time, 15 minutes of group discussion about the happenings on the farm, a one-hour animal science lesson based on that week’s animal, and another 30 minutes of free time to allow students to meet new friends and interact with their favorite animals.

The classes change every week and focus on a different animal, ensuring that no two classes are the same, even if the animal repeats. This dynamic approach keeps the experience exciting and fresh for students while deepening their knowledge of farming practices and animal care. The focus of the program is to foster a hands-on, engaging learning environment, and the farm's animals are an integral part of this experience.

Through their time in Farm School, children will work on mini projects to observe and track the progress of certain animals, gaining insights into the animals’ behaviors and needs. Students will also have the opportunity to work with a variety of animals, which will vary based on their interests and curiosity. This is a great way for children to explore farming in an interactive and educational setting.

Farm School is not just about learning facts – it’s about building a lasting connection with the animals and the farm. Each lesson aims to inspire a love of animals, farming, and the environment. We’re excited to welcome students to the farm and help them grow as they engage in meaningful, hands-on experiences.
